Our dear colleague Linda Azmee, HR Specialist Recruiting &Employer Branding, went on maternity leave and subsequent parental leave on 30. April 2024. Find out what she and Tim Mengeler, her parental leave replacement and new HR colleague, have experienced in recent weeks here:
Dear Linda, first of all, congratulations on your first pregnancy! How are you doing?
I’m doing great, thank you very much! The first few days of maternity leave were a bit strange, but as there’s still a lot to do before my first daughter arrives, they went by pretty quickly.
Yes, I can well imagine that! Why don’t you tell us what it was like for you to announce your pregnancy to the team? What reactions did you experience?
Everything you could wish for! The first person I told about my pregnancy was my line manager and she was so happy for me. That made it much easier for me to be open about my pregnancy relatively early on. My direct colleagues also reacted very positively. So, I was able to start looking for a suitable replacement for my upcoming parental leave straight away and I’m happy to have found exactly the right person for the job in Tim. Tim was able to join our team at the beginning of March and so he had almost two full months to familiarise himself with the job.
Dear Tim, welcome once again to the LentjesFamily! How did you find the induction programme?
Thank you very much, the induction period at Doosan Lentjes was an all-round positive experience for me. I felt at home right from the start and was given great support by my colleagues. Linda in particular was always there to help and advise me. The good cooperation and helpfulness of my colleagues played a key role in helping me to integrate quickly and work productively. Overall, the induction period was an extremely rewarding phase during which I learnt a lot and, in my opinion, successfully settled into the company.
And what is it like now without Linda?
Despite the relatively short familiarisation phase of just under two months, I quickly got to grips with the company’s workflows and processes. It’s quieter in the office now (the second desk belongs to Linda) :D. Nevertheless, my colleagues are of course still available to me if I have any questions. I hope that I can now put my own Recruiting & Employer Branding stamp on the company and support Doosan Lentjes in the best possible way.
Once again to you, Linda. What will you miss most and what are you looking forward to in the coming months?
What I will miss most is the great team spirit and the fantastic staff, but also our “baby” #YourVoiceMatters. I had to shed a tear or two when I said goodbye. It was totally overwhelming for me how many colleagues came by and what great and thoughtful gifts I received from you!
Over the next few months, however, I am of course looking forward to my new baby, the familiarisation period and all the new impressions and experiences that await me. Thanks to my great colleagues, I know that my projects and my day-to-day work will be well taken care of, so I don’t have to worry about anything. And of course, I’m also looking forward to coming over with my little one as soon as we’re a bit more settled! Maybe to the summer party?
Yes, that would be great – we would definitely be delighted. But for now, we wish you a hopefully relaxed maternity leave and then a wonderful time with your daughter. And the best of luck and fun to you Tim, of course! 😊
