Biomass-CFB role model for Japan
Doosan Lentjes is currently providing key CFB boiler technology for the new 75 MWe biomass-fired power plant located in Sodegaura Japan. The contract comprises engineering and procurement of the boiler island including the major boiler and flue gas cleaning equipment.
Carried out to the benefit of the plant owner, Osaka Gas Group, our work is executed under the terms of a larger EP contract awarded to our Korean parent company, Doosan Heavy Industries (DHI). Through our close collaboration with the experienced local partner, Chiyoda Corporation, the project brings together strongest competencies along the entire EPC value chain.
The plant design provides for working with advanced steam conditions and a reheat system. This concept will help harnessing the maximum performance potential of the steam generated thus achieving greatest plant efficiency. And to ensure compliance with all governmental emissions regulations, the plant design incorporates both integrated and additionally installed flue gas cleaning systems.
This current biomass project marks a series of further projects of this kind expected to follow which reflects increasing local efforts to implement a government-driven cleaner energy strategy.
