Environmental protection at its best at ICCI 2017: Doosan Lentjes presents its advanced air pollution control concepts

Reduction of the environmental impact of power plants: Doosan Lentjes will present its advanced flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) concepts at ICCI 2017 from 03 – 05 May in Istanbul, Turkey.

Both fast economic and industrial growth in Turkey cause an increased demand for power. Simultaneously, sustainability and environmental protection will be main drivers for tomorrow’s energy production. With respect to the environmental impact of power plants running on challenging local coal types, reliable flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) solutions are required to achieve highest possible sulphur removal rates while maximising operating efficiencies.

“The main focus of our presentation will be wet limestone FGD solutions which have been especially developed to meet the requirements of high sulphur and ash applications as well as large scale power plants like those being operated on the Turkish market”, says Dr. Annette Ziemann-Nöthe, Product Manager for Wet Limestone Flue Gas Desulphurisation at Doosan Lentjes. “With desulphurisation efficiencies of up to 99%, our FGD solutions help Turkish customers implement sustainable power generation concepts focusing on lowest emissions values in the long-run. Simultaneously, our solutions are flexible to be adapted to changing load conditions in terms of both flue gas flow and sulphur content which has positive effects on consumables and power consumption. Using the examples of our Turkish reference plants, we will outline how these kinds of projects have been successfully implemented in the past”, Dr. Ziemann-Nöthe concludes.

Held annually, the ICCI unites a range of professionals from across the Turkish and international power generation industry. Representing a valuable information and exchange platform, the event brings advanced German technology together with Turkish clients with the aim of jointly shaping a greener power future.
